How to remove all numeric/non-numeric characters from the string in SSRS
Let’s say we have a string like 1;B4Y;dce5;6fgh;This
And we are expecting an output like this BY;dce;fgh;This
To remove all the numeric characters from a string, we need to use regular expression like following:
=System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.Replace("1;B4Y;dce5;6fgh;This", "[0-9]", "").Trim(";")
This expression will give the output as BY;dce;fgh;This

And vise versa, if we want only numbers then we need to use regular expression like following:
=System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.Replace("1;B4Y;dce5;6fgh;This", "[^0-9]", "").Trim(";")

Failure sending mail: Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 ... Relaying denied

Many smtp servers use some sort of protection against email spamming.  This only allows trusted users or computers to send email via the server.

1. Open IIS6 Manager using Control Panel --> Administrative Tools.
2. Open SMTP Virtual Server properties.
3. On General tab, Set IP address of the Web server instead of "All Unassigned".
4. In Access tab, click on Relay button, this will open Relay Restrictions dialog.
5. In relay computers list, add the loopback IP address i.e 127.0.0.1 and IP address of the Web server, so that they can pass/relay emails through the SMTP server.

Cách truyền tham số vào Stored Procedure trong Power Query

Trong bài này, mình sẽ hướng dẫn cách bạn cách truyền tham số vào Stored Procedure trong Power Query.
Trong ví dụ minh họa, chúng ta sẽ sử dụng hàm uspGetBillOfMaterials trong DB AdventureWorks 2012. Hàm này sử dụng bằng cách truyền vào 2 tham số ProductID và CheckDate.
Sử dụng SSMS để chạy thử hàm này:

exec [dbo].[uspGetBillOfMaterials] 727, ’2009-01-02′

Sau đó chúng ta sẽ có được kết quả như hình dưới đây:

Bây giờ chúng ta sẽ chuyển sang công cụ Power Query để thực hiện. Mở Excel, chuyển sang tab Power Query và chọn SQL Server

Nhập tên Server, Database và SQL statement như hình bên dưới:

Click ô Name để đặt tên cho query là GetBOM. Sau đó, click "Close and Load" ở tab Home.

Đợi 1 chút, dữ liệu sẽ được load vào trong worksheet của Excel. Việc chính chúng ta cần làm là làm sao có thể truyền tham số vào stored proc. Bạn có thể thấy rằng chúng ta sẽ truyền vào hàm trên 2 tham số, 1 tham số kiểu Integer và 1 tham số kiểu Date. Tiếp theo, ta sẽ tạo 1 table mới với 2 column chứa các tham số. Table này sẽ được đặt tên là param.

Cột Check Date sẽ được chuyển định dạng sang Text.

Trở lại tab Power Query, trong Workbook Queries, right click GetBOM và chọn Edit

Tại cửa sổ GetBOM Query Editor, chuyển sang tab View và chọn Advanced Editor.

Chúng ta sẽ chỉnh sửa script tại đây. Tất cả việc cần làm là truyền biến được lấy từ bảng param được định nghĩa khi nãy. Script dưới đây để ta sẽ đọc dữ liệu cell có vị trí nằm ở bảng param.

Excel.CurrentWorkbook(){[Name="TABLE_NAME"]}[Content]{ROW_NUMBER}[#”COLUMN_NAME”],

Code trên ta có: TABLE_NAME là param, ROW_NUMBER là số thứ tự dòng để load và COLUMN_NAME là tên cột. Như vậy, để lấy được giá trị đầu tiên của cột ProductID thuộc bảng param, ta có đoạn code sau:

Để thực hiện nối chuỗi trong đoạn code trên, ta sẽ sử dụng "&". Sau đó click Done và click Close and Load ở tab Home.

Bây giờ chúng ta sẽ thay đổi giá trị ở bảng param và refresh dữ liệu, để xem kết quả mới trong Excel nhé. Ta sẽ đổi ProductID từ 727 thành 800 sau đó click Refresh Data. Xuất hiện cửa sổ mới như hình dưới đây:

Biến đầu tiên truyền vào được đổi thành 800, Click Run để check xem sao nhé.

Nhận xét:  Đây là 1 trong những cách "work around" cho mục đích truyền tham số vào 1 hàm hay một câu Select query , thủ thuật này được nghiên cứu và chia sẽ bởi SOHEIL BAKHSHI. Với công cụ Power Query, chúng ta có thể lấy dữ liệu từ nhiều nguồn bằng SQL query, Store Proc. Việc truyền tham số vào các hàm hỗ trợ linh hoạt cho những nhu cầu xây dựng các báo cáo đa dạng và phức tạp hơn.

Key PASS Business Analytics Conference Takeaways

The second annual PASS Business Analytics Conference targeting Microsoft business intelligence, business analyst, data architect, and data scientist audiences. For those of you that have been in the Microsoft BI community for a while, this new conference replaced the former Microsoft Business Intelligence Conference. The conference track content was also extended to include Excel analytics audiences. The shift towards business analytics from traditional business intelligence (BI) is a market trend that we are seeing across the entire technology industry right now.

So, what is business analytics?  Business analytics means interacting with information at the speed of business. Business analytics is continuous, iterative, and fact-based data exploration and decision making using statistical, quantitative, explanatory, and predictive analysis techniques. Where traditional business intelligence was historically focused on measuring past performance with querying, reporting, OLAP, and dashboards answering what happened, how many, how often, and where type questions. Business analytics answers why and forward looking questions such as what if these trends continue, what will happen next and what is the best that can happen?

Significant Improvements to Power BI for Office 365

In the PASS Business Analytics Conference opening keynote, Microsoft Partner Director Kamal Hathi and Microsoft Technical Fellow Amir Netz showcased a series of game changing, significant improvements to the new Power BI for Office 365 offering that pleasantly surprised Microsoft BI insiders and MVPs in the community. Here is a quick summary of the key announcements.

• 12,500 Power BI tenants activated and over 2 million Power Pivot, 100,000 Power Query, and 55,000 Power Map downloads as of May 2014
• Microsoft's Power BI native Mobile BI app for iOS devices (iPad, iPhone) will finally be released to the Apple store this summer after years of promises
• Device agnostic, Power View HTML 5 development is nearing completion with keynote demonstrations shown on a Google Chrome device
• Classic Reporting Services has been integrated into Power BI in Office 365 including direct connectivity to on premise data sources eliminating data copies to the cloud
• New Forecasting, tree map visualizations, a KPI editor, and a chart combining overlay feature in Power View for Power BI in Office 365 was showcased

That is not all Microsoft has been up to lately. Additional news is expected at the upcoming World Partner Conference (WPC) in July. Typically, business intelligence news from Microsoft is released at PASS or SharePoint events. However, last year the launch of Power BI was released during WPC since that event that gets a much larger audience of Microsoft's core extended, partner channel sales people.

Key Messages for the Microsoft BI Community

There are already a few articles that dive into the specific announcement details. I'd like to share my thoughts on what this news actually means for Microsoft BI professionals and customers.

First of all, the Power BI component adoption rates are telling. Clearly, for all razzle, dazzle of Power Map, the practical and fantastic Power Query is far more useful. The Power BI tenant count is most likely skewed with small Microsoft pilot customers, MVP, and partner demo sites. Although rapid, monthly release cycles for Office 365, Office 2013, and Power BI have been filled with enhancements changing the entire Microsoft customer value experience in a positive way. The per-user pricing has been a major point of contention in the Microsoft BI community. Prior to these announcements, Power BI for Office 365 business value has not been compelling. With the latest additions of mobile-friendly BI for iOS and Android, Reporting Services, and direct connectivity, business value is improving. I expect Power BI adoption numbers to continue to slowly grow until pricing is revisited, but there should be wider adoption for mobile BI and operational reporting use cases.

Device Angnostic, Cross Platform Mobile Computing

Since Satya Nadella has taken over as Microsoft CEO, we are seeing a myriad of encouraging changes in corporate development philosophy. One of those changes is in device agnostic, cross platform mobile computing. Microsoft finally is delivering on the native mobile BI for Apple iOS promise made several years ago and showcased a keynote demo using a Google Chrome device. These actions spoke volumes to the business intelligence community that in the past was given almost no information in regards to roadmaps for the world's most popular mobile device platforms.  Listening to Microsoft insiders, there is an undeniable sense of joy, relief, and excitement that I have not heard in a long while. The new CEO is already making a commendable impact externally and internally in his new role.

Typically when Microsoft does not enhance or showcase a product in marketing literature, demos, or news, they have reduced development. Having been released over 10 years ago and with shiny Power View on center stage, classic Reporting Services was getting a lot less marketing coverage. Reporting Services is tried-and-true, highly mature, robust, flexible, and is simply loved by the Microsoft BI developers and customers alike. Often Reporting Services is the only Microsoft tool that can fulfill common dashboard requirements today. Since Power View was released and the investment in Reporting Services and Report Builder came to a halt, the future for classic Reporting Services was looking bleak. Folks around the world voiced concerns and disappointment that their favorite Microsoft BI solution had been getting neglected when no new features were added to SQL Server 2014.

Renewed Investment in Reporting Services

Seeing classic Reporting Services with ancient AdventureWorks bicycle demos being shown at the 2014 PASS Business Analytics Conference keynote was absolutely beautiful. That demo truly means Microsoft heard you—their customers—and delivered. It has been a difficult few years for Microsoft BI with agile, niche vendors taking noteworthy market share. Microsoft seemed to be drifting in different directions and then shifted to a "cloud first, cloud only" focus with Power BI. Cloud Power BI was not a customer-request driven direction nor was there a strong market desire yet for Cloud BI. By sharing news of renewed investment in Reporting Services and in on premise solutions, Microsoft sent a welcome and much needed message to restore Microsoft BI community morale.

Other revealing announcements in the keynote regarding tree maps, combination charts, direct connectivity, and new predictive forecasting being immediately released drove home the points that not only has Microsoft been listening, but they have been secretly working on a ton of business intelligence projects.  I can't wait to see what will be shown at the upcoming World Partner Conference (WPC).

Save the Date

The PASS BA Conference keynote exceeded expectations and rejuvenated hope that Microsoft truly is listening to their partners and customers. There's still a long road ahead, but the future outlook just got a bit brighter in that one hour keynote session. True to history, Microsoft Business Intelligence and Analytics Conference keynotes do seem to be dramatic and loaded with critical community updates. PHÂN TÍCH DỮ LIỆU TRONG NGÀNH BÁN LẺ

Ngành bán lẻ có vai trò rất quan trọng đối với nền kinh tế. Từ khi gia nhập WTO vào 2006, diện mạo ngành dịch vụ bán lẻ Việt Nam đã thay đổi. Cộng đồng doanh nghiệp bán lẻ Việt Nam đã từng bước thích nghi với tình hình mới, nâng cao năng lực cạnh tranh. Vào cuối 2011 đầu 2012, các chuyên gia đánh giá về thị trường bán lẻ Việt Nam bằng các cụm từ như: “tiềm năng”, “còn rộng chỗ”, “cạnh tranh” … Tuy nhiên cũng không khó để nhận ra những cụm từ khác như “đối đầu không cân xứng”, “bộn bề khó khăn” … mô tả hiện trạng các doanh nghiệp bán lẻ Việt Nam.
Để tồn tại và phát triển trong bối cảnh hiện nay, doanh nghiệp cần có một tầm nhìn và chiến lược kinh doanh hiệu quả. Bài viết này giới thiệu về phân tích dữ liệu như một công cụ hỗ trợ đắc lực trong cạnh tranh. Bản thân phân tích dữ liệu không làm nên một kế hoạch hay chiến lược kinh doanh. Nhưng bằng việc sử dụng phân tích dữ liệu, các doanh nghiệp đã tối ưu hoạt động kinh doanh của mình, từ đó chiếm được ưu thế trong cạnh tranh trên thị trường. Thử hình dung “bỗng dưng” doanh nghiệp của bạn được trang bị khả năng biết việc gì đang xảy ra, ở đâu khi đối thủ cạnh tranh chưa biết, khả năng tối ưu lợi nhuận bằng cách tiết kiệm chi phí trong khi vẫn duy trì doanh thu, và khả năng biết chính xác hơn điều sẽ xảy ra ở tương lai... Đó là kết quả của việc phân tích các dữ liệu liên quan đến hoạt động của doanh nghiệp.

PHÂN TÍCH VÀ ỨNG DỤNG TRONG NGÀNH BÁN LẺ
Phân tích học (Business Analytics - BA) là việc sử dụng rộng rãi dữ liệu, các phân tích thống kê số học, mô hình dự báo và giải thích, cùng với phương pháp quản lý dựa trên dữ liệu để đưa ra những quyết định và hành động thích hợp. (trích “Cạnh tranh bằng phân tích”)
Phân tích là một phần trong chuỗi các nghiệp vụ xử lý dữ liệu thông minh Business Intelligence – BI.
Tạo ra sự khác biệt, chiếm ưu thế dẫn đầu… là kết quả của những quy trình kinh doanh có hiệu quả cao. Bản thân phân tích học không tạo nên chiến lược kinh doanh, nhưng sử dụng nó để tối ưu hóa những khả năng độc đáo của doanh nghiệp sẽ cấu thành một chiến lược tốt.
Để đưa phân tích vào hoạt động thường ngày của doanh nghiệp, cần rất nhiều yếu tố hỗ trợ và sẽ gặp rất nhiều trở ngại. Theo nhiều tài liệu cũng như ý kiến chủ quan của người viết, một trong những yếu tố quan trọng nhất để doanh nghiệp thực hiện phân tích thành công chính là tầm nhìn và kinh nghiệm – kiến thức nền tảng của người đứng đầu. Không phải ngẫu nhiên khi các doanh nghiệp cạnh tranh bằng phân tích hiệu quả nhất lại có các Chủ tịch, CEO, CFO … là Tiến sĩ kinh tế lượng / thống kê / tin học (trí tuệ nhân tạo) / nghiên cứu thị trường … Bằng việc tin vào kết quả của phân tích như một “tôn giáo”, họ không ngần ngại sử dụng quyền lực của mình để trang bị và triển khai, áp dụng phân tích đến từng bộ phận/hoạt động của doanh nghiệp và giám sát, điều khiển toàn bộ quá trình đến khi thành công, cũng như họ đủ khả năng/năng lực để ra quyết định trước những tình huống mới/khó khăn phát sinh từ phân tích một cách hiệu quả nhất.
Khi doanh nghiệp bán lẻ đã có phần mềm quản lý khách hàng CRM (Customer Relationship Management) và quản lý chuỗi cung ứng SCM (Supply Chain Management), thì phân tích dữ liệu là cách thức doanh nghiệp phối hợp với cả hai để điều chỉnh chính xác cung và cầu.
Dưới đây là một số kỹ thuật phân tích dữ liệu nổi bật mà các hãng bán lẻ đã khai thác với đối tượng là khách hàng:
- Các mô hình phân lớp/gom nhóm trong lĩnh vực khai mỏ dữ liệu sẽ phát hiện các nhóm khách hàng doanh nghiệp hiện có cũng như các nét đặc trưng của họ.
- Sử dụng các mô hình thống kê/dự báo để xác định các đối tượng khách hàng theo nhiều mục đích: ai đem lại nhiều lợi nhuận nhất? khách hàng tiềm năng là ai? Hay khách hàng nào sắp/sẽ có xác suất ngừng sử dụng dịch vụ cao nhất?
- Phối hợp hai kết quả trên, các chương trình khuyến mãi sẽ “đánh” đúng đối tượng hơn, giảm chi phí, tăng hiệu quả. Mặt khác, một cuộc rà soát toàn diện để tìm nguyên nhân hoặc các chương trình chăm sóc khách hàng đặc biệt … sẽ được triển khai khi phát hiện ra có nhiều khách hàng sinh lợi/tiềm năng … sắp ngừng dịch vụ.

- Phân tích về giá: phân tích thông tin về lịch sử bán hàng và xu hướng giá cả, sau đó thiết lập giá bán trong thời gian thực và kiếm được lợi nhuận nhiều nhất có thể từ mỗi giao dịch. Kỹ thuật tối ưu giá tạo ra những đường co giãn giá và co giãn chéo đặc trưng, giúp xác định lượng hàng bán tại các mức giá khác nhau, là cơ sở tối đa doanh thu và lợi nhuận. Ngoài ra, phân tích giá cũng giúp tối ưu hóa việc hạ giá: tìm ra thời điểm và mức độ giảm giá.
- Nghiên cứu thị trường và tối ưu hiệu quả chiến dịch marketing: phân tích ảnh hưởng của quảng cáo với việc mua sản phẩm, chọn kênh quảng cáo hiệu quả…

Các ứng dụng điển hình:
- Catalina Marketing (Mỹ) có cơ sở dữ liệu về thông tin lịch sử mua sắm của trên 100 triệu hộ gia đình, bao gồm thói quen mua sắm, thông tin nhân khẩu học, thái độ và quan điểm, sở thích của khách hàng … Thông tin này được bán cho các doanh nghiệp bán lẻ. Và họ khẳng định có thể làm tăng tỷ lệ chiết khấu – hoàn nợ trung bình của hãng bán lẻ lên gấp 10 lần so với các phương pháp khuyến khích tiêu dùng truyền thống.
- Cách đây 20 năm, hãng Procter & Gamble đã bắt đầu sử dụng phần mềm phân tích và cơ sở dữ liệu để xác định các tham số của chương trình khuyến mãi sản phẩm. Họ thu thập và phân tích dữ liệu từ những nhà cung cấp như ACNielsen và Information Resources Inc (IRI) để hiểu hành vi khách hàng và người tiêu dùng bị ảnh hưởng bởi kênh phân phối như thế nào.
- Công ty IRI “kiểm tra” giỏ hàng của người tiêu dùng để hiểu về mô hình tiêu dùng, sau đó cung cấp cho các hãng trong lĩnh vực hàng tiêu dùng đóng gói, bán lẻ, dược phẩm. Đây là kết quả ứng dụng quan trọng của thuật toán luật kết hợp (một kỹ thuật data mining), phân tích thói quen mua hàng của khách để tìm sự kết hợp giữa các mặt hàng khác nhau trong một lần mua hàng của họ. Việc nhận ra các mặt hàng thường được mua cùng nhau giúp người bán hàng có thể bán được nhiều hàng hơn do đó tăng doanh thu.
- JCPenny đã phối hợp các phương pháp phân tích, đặc biệt là phân tích giá, để tăng 5% lãi gộp, tăng hệ số vòng quay hàng tồn kho lên 10%, tăng thu nhập và doanh số bán hàng trong nhiều năm liên tiếp (2001-2004).
- Giữ chân khách hàng và bán chéo sản phẩm (cross-sell, up-sell). Năm 1995, Tesco phát triển chương trình Clubcard dành cho khách hàng. Thẻ giúp Tesco thu thập thông tin về khách hàng, tặng thưởng khách mua nhiều, và điều chỉnh giảm giá mua hàng để tối đa số người quay trở lại mua sắm lần sau. Họ có các dạng khách hàng “tỉnh táo”, “ưa sự thuận tiện” … nhờ phân tích hành vi mua hàng. Tesco tùy biến các chương trình khuyến mãi theo ưu tiên và sở thích của khách hàng. Nhờ chương trình này mà Tesco đã tối đa hóa sự trung thành của khách hàng, tối ưu hóa hiệu quả tài chính lên mức dẫn đầu thị trường.
- Best Buy có 8 phân vùng khách hàng sau khi phân tích thông tin trong 5 năm của 60 triệu hộ gia đình tại Mỹ. Họ am hiểu khách hàng đến mức có thể xác định tần suất trả lại hàng của khách, từ đó tìm ra cách làm thỏa mãn những khách hàng này nhiều hơn.
Đối với nhà cung ứng, phân tích sử dụng để hoạch định sản lượng, khớp cung và cầu, phân tích vị trí… Wal-Mart là “cha đẻ” của tất cả các doanh nghiệp cạnh tranh bằng phân tích với chuỗi cung ứng. Với 583 terabytes dữ liệu bán hàng và tồn kho (4/2006), Wal-Mart đã tối ưu hóa việc phân loại sản phẩm, “cắt may” sản phẩm theo nhu cầu tại địa bàn siệu thị hoạt động. Với mạng lưới nhà cung cấp rộng khắp thế giới và có thể kết nối vào hệ thống Wal-Mart, nhà cung ứng có thể biết và chọn ra cách bố trí sản phẩm của mình theo đặc điểm của cửa hàng. Ngày nay, Wal-Mart dẫn đầu thế giới về thu thập dữ liệu về người tiêu dùng. Nhân viên marketing của Wal-Mart khai thác dữ liệu này để đảm bảo khách hàng sẽ có sản phẩm họ muốn, thời điểm họ cần và giá cả hợp lý. Đã có rất nhiều ứng dụng phân tích học đằng sau thành công của Wal-Mart với vị trí dẫn đầu thế giới trong lĩnh vực bán lẻ.
